Mike was born on groundhog day of '84 in a quiet town in New Jersey. His mother raised him on singer poets like Paul Simon, Neil Young, Carol King - in the car his father would play Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson. Later of course he'd find Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, countless others really. At some point he joined a choir and picked up on the lush vocal harmonies, the use of voices to make so many instruments, and the importance of supporting lines, often barely heard. He eventually studied at the Berklee College of Music.

Years were spent mostly behind the scenes, working for artists, writing for anyone who paid, playing in a traveling band. He went to Italy to film a documentary about folk music. He came back with songs.

Having spent his career in supporting roles, the forthcoming EP "Paces" will be his first official release. The music - a knit of americana, folk, and rock and roll, is calm on the surface hiding turmoil below - blankets of harmony cloaking  snarling unrest - like bad news delivered sweetly, urgently.

The EP is being released on Mike's Morocco Music Group label and will available early 2017.
